Saint Anthony of Padua Icon Print
$28.00
Printed reproduction of the original icon of St. Anthony of Padua, which was written at the request of Saint Anthony himself and passed on to the icon writer through the Franciscan, Father Norbert M. Siwiński, OFM Conv. From the beginning, the creation of the icon was guided by Father Norbert who provided spiritual care for the iconographer, Ewa Krepsztul, to whom the Evangelical Doctor gave the grace to write His image. The icon was written in true freedom, with Father’s repeated instruction: “Write as St. Anthony prompts you.”
The image depicts Saint Anthony as a young man wearing a gray Franciscan habit, symbolizing penance and asceticism. His peaceful face and compassionate eyes invite us to entrust our concerns to him, believing in his intercession with God. Saint Anthony holds the Word of God in his left hand and points to a heart-shaped fire with his right hand, representing the Holy Spirit, above the Holy Book. He also carries white lilies, symbolizing the Virgin Mary and spiritual purity. A golden halo surrounds his head, highlighting his holiness. He emerges from a light ash-colored background illuminated by a Tau Cross, symbolizing guidance through life’s fog. In the upper right corner, the Mother of God, in red robes, embraces the infant Jesus, who offers a scroll of Holy Scripture to Saint Anthony. The upper left features a Seraphim with three pairs of wings in red and yellow, representing divine love.
