In honor of the 2026 Jubilee Year of Saint Francis, A Feast with Saint Francis celebrates his spiritual legacy through the Canticle of the Sun, bringing together sacred art, poetry, prayer, music, and the beauty of creation.

At the heart of the gathering is the Canticle Project, a creative dialogue between Franciscan Friar Fr. Norbert Siwinski, OFM Conv. and visual artist Ewa Krepsztul. The project brings together twelve original egg-tempera paintings by Ewa and Father’s original poems and meditations, inspired by the Canticle of the Sun.

Father’s writing approaches the Canticle of the Sun through poetry and spiritual reflection, allowing the words and spirit of St. Francis to speak into the present. His poems and meditations explore creation, gratitude, silence, humility, and our relationship with God and with all creatures.

Ewa’s paintings grow from this same spiritual and poetic journey. Through color, light, form, and the luminous qualities of egg tempera, the paintings offer a visual meditation inspired by the spiritual journey of St. Francis and the Canticle of the Sun.

Together, the poetry and paintings create a shared exploration of faith, creation, and the beauty of God’s presence.

The Exhibition

The twelve paintings will be exhibited at Gilbertie’s Farm in Easton, CT, accompanied by Father’s poetry and reflections, music, and meditation—an invitation to encounter the Canticle through image, word, prayer, and music originally composed for this event. Following the exhibition, Holy Mass will be celebrated ad orientem in the fields, followed by a shared feast in the fields.

who is very useful and humble and precious and chaste.

Praised be You, my Lord, through Brother Fire,

through whom You light the night,

and he is beautiful and playful and robust and strong.

Praised be You, my Lord, through our Sister Mother Earth,

who sustains and governs us,

and who produces various fruit with colored flowers and herbs.

Praised be You, my Lord, through those who give pardon for Your love,

and bear infirmity and tribulation.

Blessed are those who endure in peace

for by You, Most High, shall they be crowned

Praised be You, my Lord, through our Sister Bodily Death,

from whom no one living can escape.

Woe to those who die in mortal sin.

Praise and bless my Lord and give Him thanks

and serve Him with great humility.
